We had so much fun styling and planning this wonderful 30th birthday celebration. The brief was ‘pop of colour’… and that it was. The mood was fun, bright and fabulous, which complimented the birthday gals personality.
The colour palette comprised of bright pink and orange with flattering hints of silver. Variations of pink and orange roses were our bloom of choice and we used jonquil to break up the bright colour tones.
A clever way of incorporating metallic colours into your floral arrangements is to spray paint parts of the foliage. We used silver to cover Magnolia leaves – a great leaf for spray painting, as they are big and durable.
The celebration took place at The Ugly Duckling on Swan St, Richmond. Designed to reflect a high-end residential living space, The Ugly Duckling is intimate yet sophisticated, with a light-filled seating area at the rear and a moody, monolithic bar upon entrance. It really is the perfect place to host such an event.
Caterers Bahari, who are conveniently located across the road from the venue, served up delicious modern interpretations of classic Greek dishes; kataifi prawns, chicken skewers, vegetarian moussaka, cauliflower & grain salad, beetroot & walnut salad, fasolakia and lemon potatoes were all on the menu.
For dessert, All Day Donuts amazed guests with their infamous OG, Raspberry Jam and Lime Brule donuts; lemon coconut birthday cake was made by our go to cake maker Vivalicious sweets – Y U M.
This mid-afternoon 30th birthday celebration was a success!
